Description
Blend of 54 months barrel aged brown ale, 26 months barrel aged golden sour ale, 19 months barrel aged saison & 6 months barrel aged spontaneous fermentation golden sour ale, refermented with California strawberries. 5.9% alc/vol
This new blend is slightly different with 35% of it coming form an old barrel of sour amber beer brewed back in January 2016 during our first brewing season. The other 65% of blend comes from golden sour ale barrels brewed in 3/2019, 10/19 and 1/2020 using a range of fermentation techniques (saison, spontaneous and pitched mixed culture).
This blend is chock-full of strawberry goodness like previous batches, but the maltiness of the amber beer in the blend gives this batch a higher perceived sweetness than previous blends, but didn’tchange the color much. Acidity is medium.
